Two out of Two for Sunday XI

Fiskerton were the visitors to GLA for the second Newark Alliance game of the season.

Having won the toss, Darren Wright had little hesitation in batting first. The score limped along to 13 from 10 overs and then wickets fell in a hurry. At 42-6 all seemed lost, but Captain Daz lead the rearguard action with a hard hit 69. He received fantastic support from Jake Lowe who played probably his finest innings for the Club, belying his tender years, putting on over a hundred with Daz for the seventh wicket. As the final over of the innings was bowled, Jake reached a well deserved half century as Calverton posted a satisfactory 189-7.

Fiskerton's reply was strange to say the least. Ten of the batsman didn't get into double figures, the remaining one (the opener), scored a century! Calverton used nine bowlers and the wickets were shared around as Fiskerton were dismissed 38 runs short of the target.

MOM Jake Lowe - Great knock.
